Should I wait for the iPhone 14 Pro?

my iPhone battery is deteriorating and covered and cracks. its also slow as f*ck and always has to lag when I open the app viewer. Im desperate to buy a new phone, but my worst fear right now is that I buy the iPhone 13 pro and then the new 14 pro turns out to be much better. so basically I want to know if the update is significant enough for me to wait it out and temporarily continue to suffer or whether I should just buy the 13 pro now.
